Console – Retro-Bit Generations

This one is interesting. Not Exciting, but interesting.

It’s a strange little device because it is full of arcade games yet it comes with gamepad controllers that look like SEGA Saturn controllers.

The controllers look cheaply made, and they probably are given my experience with Retro-Bit. I have the Retro-Bit 16 (plays NES and SNES carts), it comes with the WORST controllers I have ever used, EVER! Remember the R-Zone controller? Worse than that. The controllers that come with the Retro-Bit 16 (and are red and black just like these) are so bad that they feel like something I would get at the dollar store toy section.

Since this is an arcade emulating system; it should come with joysticks. But no, it doesn’t Lame.
It does however have USB ports for the controllers so MAYBE it could work with 3rd party arcade / fight sticks. I’m not making any promises there though and I doubt it.

I guess it’s not ALL bad though. Maybe it just makes a bad first impression. I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover… but this is not a book, its a console and it’s WRONG!… Okay, I’ll try to calm down.

I like this though, it has the old RCA ports so I guess you could connect it to the crappy old TV in your kids room. Your kid who happens to like 90’s arcade games. This “kid” needs to get a job and move out already!
Never mind. I don’t like it. It’s pointless. Where’s the coaxial input? 😛

It also has HDMI of course. Good thing.
That little slot there? It’s for an SD card! Don’t get too excited now, it’s just for saves.
Rather than putting a small amount of storage space in the console, they have decided that you should buy an SD card so you can save your game progress.
On the bright side; you’ll be able to take it out and bring it to your friends houses who have also have the Retro-Bit Generations… I guess.

I do like the menu system, it looks sleek.

What “fantastic” collection. If you grew up near a declining arcade you are sure to know a few of these. (I marked all the ones I know and have played in bold).
Also; the promo video said there is over 100 games, but I’m only seeing 96. I guess those are the “popular” ones.

And that’s it. That’s the Retro-Bit Generations.
It makes no sense to me with it’s non-arcade controllers and it’s lame collection of arcade games that they claim are popular.
But there it is.
